Janardan dasa - Atlanta GA
last updated 18th October 2007

Please accept my humble obeisances and all glories to all the Vaishnavas.  Please accept these 3 pictures of all of the 121 salagram silas that I serve; 2 of which have been given over to my temporary care by a bramacari from the Atlanta ISKCON Temple.  Every type of sila that you can think of is here.  There are about 9 rare types of Varaha silas including one very protective Ugra Varaha sila with teeth that I have had for about 3 years (picture enclosed).  There are about 3 Damodar silas here that look like perfect jewels.  There are also many Matsya, Lakshmi-Narayan, Hayagriva, a rare Sarva kama kurma Sila, rare Golden Hiranyagharbam sila, many Keshava silas, many Santhana Gopal, and about 6 type of very rare Lakshmi Narasimha Murthys.  On picture 160009, you will find the most rarest of the rare salagram (Karunamayi Amma quote: "Son, where did you find that sila?" "It is very rare!  "Son, it is a treasure"!).  It is Lord Krishna's Paduka which has a sudarshan chakra on the top of what would be the ankle.  On the middle of that portion there is a hood of a Naga, and on the heel which can't be seen is a white cow print.  On the toe portion you can see the big toe which is formed separately, while the little toes are formed by one chakra.  To the right of that sila is a very rare and perfect Lakshmi Varaha sila.  Below those two silas is one huge, perfectly round shaped Balarama sila.  Next to that one is a rare Ganesha sila.  There are so many other types that I can't go through them all here in one email.  nevertheless, I can send more pictures to you if you would like.  Also, you can increase the size of each picture to get more detail if needed and to be able to see individual silas.

Hare Krsna,

Lord Sri Vasudeva:

picture by Param Seva dasa 2001

Humble Dandavats and all glories to Gauranga and Gaudiya Vaishnavas one and all!  Sri Vasudeva Shalagram has a special place in my heart for several reasons:  Firstly, I received him from a Nepali gurubhai after my Pancaratrika diksha into Vaishnavism at Sri Badrinath Temple, a Teertha run by Keralan Brahmin Madhwas closely associated with my Paramguruji's lineage and Mutt (Sri Sudhindra Teertha Swamiji of Kashi Mutt Samsthan, Haridwar); and secondly, I was on the Badri-Rameswar Yatra, August 1990, with my late Master, Sadguru Sant Bhadragiri Keshavadas and 36 other American and Indian Gurubhai.  My Nepali gurubhai told me that Sri Vasudeva originated from Muktinath, and my Guruji identified him as being of the Vasudeva type.  Later some one told me that he could be further categorized as a Narayan Shalagram Shila  (thus, Narayan Shila of the Vasudeva type; smallish, 2 1/2 inches in diameter; ovalish but not egg shaped nor completely round; smooth black with a deep nabham that has a distinctive line under it; and 2 small black holes on the back that are very close together).

Janardanadas

Now for some Shiva lingas - Bana lingas of Janardan prabhu's

Two Extraordinary Lingas:

These 2 Narmadeshwar Lingams are in my possession.  On one of them you can clearly see ancient Bharat, a high lighted Himalayas, and a black dot where the ancient Shiva Dham of Bhubaneswar is located.  Bhubaneswar is a very sacred city even to Vaishnavas, as I’m sure you know.  I saw this immediately when I found this Lingam.  You can even see the Krishna & Godavari rivers. Curiously enough, Pakistan, a Mohammedan country, along with some tribal areas around Nagaland which are rapidly Christianizing and losing Vedic culture are cut off of the map!

Next, is another lingam that has a map of what was ancient Bharat.  You can clearly see the map end at ancient Java, China and Thailand to the east, and Iran-Afghanistan to the West.  To the North, you can see some northernmost hinterlands of Kazakhstan, etc.  Take a look at these along with the modern day maps I have included for comparison.
